Your Mission Trip

Banica_3

Our Protestant brothers and sisters have been organizing, fundraising for, and going on short-term mission trips for many years.  However, there are very limited opportunities for devout, practicing Catholics to participate in the mission of the Church through short-term mission work.

While there are a few organizations that offer short-term mission trips for Catholics, none are inclusive of entire families and most focus on youth and college-aged Catholics.

CBC staff will contact potential mission sites, plan itineraries for trips, form mission teams, help missionaries develop spiritually and grow in understanding of the Catholic faith while performing works of mercy in a receiving community, and provide the tools and support for missionaries to re-enter their home communities with a deeper relationship with God.

CBC seeks to aid missionaries in their personal, relational, and spiritual formation before, during, and after the mission.  Our focus is equally on the needs and growth of our missionaries and the people they are commissioned to serve.

CBC will advance the way short-term mission work is conducted by properly preparing missionaries, partnering with long-term missions, and integrating the short-term mission trips with the larger mission of the Church.

It is of the utmost importance to CBC to embrace a culture and people through properly preparing missionaries to enter into a different culture with sensitivity and an open frame of mind.  We will strive to partner with long-term missionaries, religious orders, and parish projects that know the community and its needs better than we do to ensure that our missions are not only effective but have lasting, positive effects for the receiving community.  Additionally, CBC will take the time to visit and survey potential receiving communities and ask them how they believe they could benefit from a short-term group. Lastly, CBC will make the most of opportunities to learn from the experiences of other long- and short-term missions and not repeat the mistakes they may have made.
