What’s Included: Cost per person is $3100 and includes airfare between destinations, land transportation to the mission site, lodging in dorm-style rooms, all meals, travel insurance, and CBC team t-shirt. A $100 project fee is also included that goes directly to the Mother of Mercy School to assist in covering supply and material costs for projects that the team will undertake while on mission. Optional activities are at an additional cost and are the responsibility of the missionary. Examples are park fees, shopping in the marketplace, private tours, and meals on travel days. Estimated additional costs per person are $125. Kenya requires an entrance tax of $51 per person, which must be paid online and in advance of the mission trip. CBC team leaders will communicate all necessary details on how to process the entrance tax.
If you withdrawal your registration, payments will be refunded less the $250 CBC processing fee and any non-refundable airline and project fees.
About Lare: Sister Rose Wangui grew up in the village of Lare, Kenya, attending high school and working with the Sisters of Mercy at the Mercy hospital in the Rift Valley. Her vision and faith led her to create The Mercy Project – a multi-phased effort that included building and funding a water well that now provides clean water, and a health clinic that provides basic medical care for the families of Lare, Kenya. The third phase of her vision is the building and completion of a secondary school dedicated to the empowerment and education of girls. The Mother of Mercy Girl’s Secondary School is open to all girls ages 13-18 in the surrounding area of Lare and Nakuru County, providing room and board, and strong foundation of education. As of February 2014, the school has enrolled 400 girls.
What to Expect: Commissioned By Christ missionaries will be involved with any of a number of projects, including repairing facilities on school grounds, working on construction initiatives, teaching in the classrooms, socializing with the girls and much more! 7:30am Morning prayer, grace and breakfast as a mission team

12pm Return to Mother of Mercy for lunch & siesta
2pm Depart to mission sites for afternoon work
4pm Return to Mother of Mercy and clean up for Mass
6pm Mass
7pm Dinner, talk, evening reflection
9pm Free time
11pm Lights out
Preparing for Mission: This is accomplished over a 4-month timeframe during two 1/2 day retreats, one 1/2 day group service project to help a local organization in need, and a post- trip meeting, in addition to the week on mission.
